Just digging through some old photos of mine, and after seeing only one image of this species in the Guide, thought I'd add these. I think this is a male, but I could be wrong.

Sphrodros rufipes
I live in Southern Illinois and just found and caught this beautiful spider (just for identification purposes and will let it go). I'd never seen one before. Thanks for such a fantastic web site! I'm trying to decide how to best get a pic of it before I let it go.

Stuff of nightmares
Just found one of these in Columbia, Missouri. He got a little feisty with us and displayed his impressive fangs. Wow!

Are they truly harmless? I mean if my (extremely inquisitive) 4yo got bitten would she be OK?
