Brown Recluse Spider - Loxosceles reclusa - female

Brown Recluse Spider - Loxosceles reclusa - Female
Ozark Mountains, Searcy County, Arkansas, USA
August 25, 2007
Size: 12mm
Found in some stored pottery.

Thanks for the ID, Jeff
I have no idea why she was emaciated. Heaven knows there's plenty of prey in the outbuilding where she was found. She did have what I suppose is a nest in the soup mug, a nickel-sized patch of web. (Marvin)

Maybe
it fell in and couldn't get out.
When prey is available, they are long lived as adults, even the males, in captivity at least.

An
emaciated brown recluse. Looks like a female.
