Hoverflys - Toxomerus marginatus - male - female

Hoverflys - Toxomerus marginatus - Male Female
Manteca, San joaquin County, California, USA
August 26, 2007
Size: 1 cm
Hoverflys are beautiful , but rarely land and stay put , so I took advantage of their situation and took some photos . I know there are other Hoverflys posted , but more can't hurt . Thanks , Beth

Moved
Moved from Syrphid Flies.

Toxomerus marginatus
Abdomen markings are odd - very dark, then going to faded. (Usually, they're the same shade overall.)

When you have a mating pair, please check off male and female on the form used to post. Note how the male's eyes touch at the top, while the female's have space between.
