Eastern Carpenter Bee - Xylocopa virginica

Eastern Carpenter Bee - Xylocopa virginica
Arlington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
July 15, 2017
Pretty sure this is a female since it doesn't have the white spot on the face. Note too, it is bypassing the flower opening and accessing nectar by piercing the corolla tube.
