(DORSAL VIEW) Brandon Trail, Northeast of Marciel Road. BugGuide records no Lucanids for Alameda Co. Photos were taken in the field and in the lab of this specimen.

Actually, this looks more like Platyceroides. Not sure which species though. Cool beetle. Dr. Paulsen might weigh in.
