Hi, Right now I can't go beyond that, but hopefully I'll learn the short-winged eastern species well enough to identify this one (as well as others) before too long.

Melanoplus sp.
This is either a nymph, or an adult female. Either way, it is impossible to ID Melanoplus to species from images alone. Need to examine the male genitalia in detail....
