Centruroides vittatus? - Centruroides vittatus
Dripping Springs National Park, Doña Ana County, New Mexico, USA
July 20, 2017
I noticed a couple of discarded beetle legs on top of a rock next to the trail and thought I'd try my luck to see if there was a predator hiding beneath. Was rewarded with the first scorpion I've seen out here. Is this a Striped Bark Scorpion? There was also a risk-loving cricket hanging out under the same rock.
