Ancistrocerus? - Stenodynerus anormis

Ancistrocerus? - Stenodynerus anormis
Brighton, Northumberland, Ontario, Canada
August 24, 2007
This looks very much like another image I have that was ID'd as Ancistrocerus. But some of the markings are different, so I am unsure. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Moved
Moved from Parancistrocerus.

Stenodynerus anormis, female (ON)
This is the only species of Parancistrocerus/Stenodynerus in the northeast in which markings become more whitish posteriorly (note yellow on pronotum but nearly white on posterior terga of abdomen). First good picture of the species for Bugguide. Not observed very often. Congratulations!

Parancistrocerus sp. - female
As their names indicates, these Eumenine Wasps are similar to true Ancistrocerus. The main difference is the lack of a transverse ridge on urotergite I. Small yellow spot on mesoscutum is fairly typical of some memebers of this genus too.

Parancistrocerus sp. - female
Thanks for the help Richard.
