I just came by again, while IDing some stuff from Mexico, consistent with yours, for example
this one
.
I have no better idea as to sort them with
petaurista
for now, but there is doubt on this. First,
there are slight differences in pattern, second,
K. petaurista
is
hardly recorded
from Mexico.
Third, I suspect a quite different looking
form
as being a variation. If so, it clearly is a different species.
Several
Alagoasa spp.
are known to be confusingly variable, and generic delimitation vs.
Kuschelina
is weak.
All individuals in question were found to the west of the central Cordillera, the northernmost in Mazatlán (SIN).
