Tiny wasp on syrphid fly larva - Pachyneuron?

Tiny wasp on syrphid fly larva - Pachyneuron?
Agoura, Los Angeles County, California, USA
August 29, 2007
Size: <2mm
Number 1. I really have to apolgise for the quality of these but they do show a sequence that appears to solve the problem of the strange abdominal shape. This shot, taken at 18:53:32 is the earliest one I have, shows the wasp apparently using its ovipositor in a normal fashion.
The quality of the photo makes it difficult to be sure, but it appears that the ovipositor comes out somewhere slightly above the apex of the abdomen
