Spanish Moth - Xanthopastis regnatrix

Spanish Moth - Xanthopastis regnatrix
Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas, USA
August 16, 2007
Convict caterpillars turned up on Amaryllis bulbs I put out of doors for the summer back in '07. They ate all the leaves and burrowed down into the bulbs. This moth later appeared at the window.
The same thing happened this year and we have sent in pictures of the caterpillars.
Spanish moth does not seem to be represented for Arkansas on BugGuide.
