Cerceris halone and Curculio prey - Cerceris halone - female

Cerceris halone and Curculio prey - Cerceris halone - Female
Carlisle, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
September 2, 2007
Watched this wasp bring prey to her burrow 3 times in two hours. Prey seems
to be a leafhopper. Correction - prey is Curculio!

wasp
Cerceris species... prey looks like a weevil of some sort.

Cerceris
Edward:

Thanks for the correction. Cerceris (halone?) looks close? I looked more closely at video images of prey and I believe it is a weevil.

Cerceris
i am afraid i am still rather bad at determining many wasps to species, and this genus is pretty big... i think something like 80 plus species. perhaps someone will be able to narrow it down though, it is always nice to find them with prey, seems i never do, but it should help quite a bit.
