I believe this is leprus intermmedius. I found it in pine-fir forest at about 9000'.

Thanks, does that species have blue wings too? This guy did.

 
Trimerotropis cyaneipennis
Yep, this is a female T. cyaneipennis. Very common in Arizona mountains, and wings very blue. They crackle rather loudly when they fly, and like exposed, usually hot rocky places. They are often common along the edges of narrow mountain roads and in canyons.
