Some sort of Fungus Beetle? - Strabala rufa

Size: 1/4 inch
That's my thumb and 2nd finger holding it for comparison. Just trying to ID some unknown pics in my library... any ideas? Thanks. This was taken at Tucker Prairie last spring.
