The first description of the species was Franco Andrea Bonelli's, (published after his death by Carlo Giuseppe Géné in 1832) which used the name Forficula maritima
Identification
Large, wingless earwig with uniformly colored antennae and no markings on legs.
Range
Along the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico and Pacific coasts of the entire United States and of southern Canada
