Bright Skipper

Bright Skipper
Norris City, White County, Illinois, USA
September 3, 2007
Can anybody recognize this Skipper from this side-view? It didn't open up it's wings for any look on the inside.

Note To Self
This could be a Delaware Skipper - Anatrytone logan:

An Arogos Skipper - Atrytone arogos:

A Rare Skipper - Problema bulenta:

A Duke's Skipper - Euphyes dukesi:

A Meske's Skipper - Hesperia meskei:

Or even a Common Mellana - Quasimellana eulogius:

Allowing for known ranges of the above, I think that Common Mellana Skipper, Rare Skipper and an Arogos Skipper can be ruled out. My best best would be to go with Delaware Skipper.

Moved
Moved from Frass.

Frassed
Moved from Grass Skippers.

Frassing?
I wouldn't give up so soon. Sometimes it takes a year or more to have an image IDed and this is a fine one, if it turns out not to be Sachem it may be worth keeping.

Thank You
Thank you for those helpful words. I will move it back. It does seem like such an interesting-looking Skipper to me.

I vote
for Meske's Skipper
