Unknown female dragonfly (poss. a meadowhawk?) - Crocothemis servilia - Female
Viera Wetlands, Brevard County, Florida, USA
September 3, 2007
Size: 2-3"
Found in the Viera Wetlands, near Melbourne, FL (coastal scrub/marsh/wastewater management area) There were male four-spotted pennants flying nearby, golden winged skimmers, and red or scarlet skimmers. Depending on the light, this female looked yellow-green. Legs are light colored.

Female Scarlet skimmer
Concensus from members of a group of ode photographers is that this is a female scarlet skimmer, due to size, color, pose, and the fact that there were many male scarlet skimmers in the area.

meadowhawk
I don't know my Florida Odonates, but if it were up here in MA I would call it a female Autumn Meadowhawk.
