White springtails in Formica nest - Pseudosinella rolfsi

White springtails in Formica nest - Pseudosinella rolfsi
Barfoot, Chiricahua Mountains, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
August 20, 2017

Moved
Moved from Cyphoderus similis.

Pseudosinella rolfsi
To distinguish Pseudosinella rolfsi and Cyphoderus similis, check the width of the mesothorax compared to the width of the other body segments:
in P. rolfsi the mesothorax is distinctly more wide (as in your specimen)
in C. similis the mesothorax is about as wide as the other segments.

Thanks Frans
I thought only Cyphoderus was found with ants.

Several other species ...
such as Entomobryidae or Isotomidae, may be found in and nests. But Cyphoderus lives in a kind of symbiotic lifestyle with ants (called commensalism). They inhabit ant nests as shelters. But in more favourite circumstances they may be found not associated with ant nests.
