Coccoon?

Coccoon?
York County, South Carolina, USA
September 8, 2007
Size: 1/2-3/4 inch
I found this on a weed this afternoon and don't have a clue what it is. It has a couple of leaves wrapped around a hard yellow/green shell. There is a lot of movement inside, so hopefully it will hatch out soon. Anyone???

Moved from Butterflies... I'm not sure how this got put there, since no one has offered a definite ID. Lepidoptera is probably safe to say though.

long-tailed skipper?
Did you ever figure this one out? Here's a guess: caterpillars of the long-tailed skipper, also known as the "bean-leaf roller,” make leaf shelters to hide in during the day, then come out to feed at night. Common in Southern states. Various other skipper caterpillars do similar things to plants in the pea family, which it looks like that plant is. Whether they pupate in their leaf shelters, I don't know, but I don't see why not.
