I was collecting from asters but I saw this beetle, perhaps on Goldenrod, and collected it. It's on a sprig of Goldenrod in these images. Did not measure. I was struck by how much of the elytra were covered with the black patch. Normally it is restricted to the hindmost third or so of the elytra.
