tiny flying grasshopper - Tetrix subulata

tiny flying grasshopper - Tetrix subulata
Harvard, Oxbow NWR/Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
April 5, 2005
Size: 1/2"
There were at least 20 of these tiny grasshoppers flying around sunny areas on the dirt trail. Is this one a baby? It looks developed, but the weather has just warmed up recently.

Moved
Moved from Pygmy Grasshoppers.

Looks like...
An adult Pygmy Grasshopper....

Neat--moved to guide
I moved this to the guide for the family. If Tom has photos directly overhead, that might help get the genus. One reference (Helfer) has some useful keys.

no overhead shots
but I might be able to go back and find them again. Thanks for the help.
