weird grub and the bug that dug it up

weird grub and the bug that dug it up
West Virginia, USA
September 21, 2017
Size: 2 inches?
ive seen this grub before. it stays underground. it's fat, white, has a small head and red dots along its sides. im only interested in what it is now because my duck came up and ate this one while i was filming it, and i want to make sure it wont cause some grotesque alien birth, though i doubt it will.
id also like to know what the other bug is. it flies in swarms, has never stung/bitten me, is all black with an orange behind with two yellow "eyes", and blue iridescent wings like a mud dauber. ive never seen them dig before but this one was burrowing. you can see its behind in the hole in front of the grub.

Moved from Beetles.

looks like a scarab grub
being parasitized by Scolia dubia. Both are harmless to humans and pets
