Mystery moth - solved! - Cirrhophanus triangulifer

Mystery moth - solved! - Cirrhophanus triangulifer
Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, USA
September 9, 2007
This orange/white insect was on this flower along the bank of the Missouri River. It appears to be some sort of moth...? I've went through hundreds of images and haven't seen anything similar.

update: Identified in comments. Thanks!

Reminds us of Cirrhophanus triangulifer - Goldenrod Stowaway
but can't be certain. Info in the guide here

By George I think that's it
Are you confident enough that I should post the image over there? How does that work if something is id'd? Can it be moved or does it need to be resubmitted?

Thanks so much for your assistance!

As the contributor, you can simply
tag and move. Click on the word TAG under the image and a thumbnail should appear on the upper left of your screen. Click on the word HERE in our comment and you will be taken to the info page for the species. Click on the tab for IMAGES and then click on Move Tagged Image and Presto! you are done!

Done. Thanks!
Yay! This is my first year getting into photographing and learning to identify bugs and finding this website has been great.

It does certainly look like
C. triangulifer, as does the specimen I photographed yesterday (but did not post). Using the Browse feature, I didn't see anything else that looked remotely close in the Stiriinae, which is where I'd figure some lookalikes might be. I also noticed that there are very few (only six) images of this species in the Guide. Perhaps I should submit my best shots from yesterday, as well? Thanks for the ID, John & Jane!

Absolutely, do post them
We would certainly like to see them. We actually thought this was going to be a Schinia, which apparently is the same mistake we made last time! :)

I'm not sure
what this little guy is, but I saw what I think is the same species, or at least a congener today. I'll keep you posted if I run across something in the Guide...but I'm sure one of the experts will provide an ID for us before then. Nice shot!
