Orchelimum nigripes - male

Orchelimum nigripes - Male
Cornell Campus, Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York, USA
September 16, 2017
Single male found calling from newly planted ornamental shrubs on the Ag quad. Almost certainly an introduction, since these do not occur naturally in Tompkins county to my knowledge, and I've never seen them here for the 2+ years I've lived in Ithaca.

See for more info.

edit: none heard anywhere in Tompkins county fall 2018 or fall 2019 - so this male was just a one-off.
