Red Dragonfly in Willapa Refuge - Sympetrum - Male
Willapa Refuge, Pacific County, Washington, USA
August 17, 2016
Size: roughly 2.5 inch wingspan
This looks to me like a neon skimmer but it was outside its range.

Sympetrum sp. (male)
Moved from ID Request.

Possibly Sympetrum illotum.

Red Dragonfly
Thanks.
After comparing with several of the pictures here at BugGuide I think you are right in it being Sympetrum illotum.
