This was in New River State Park. I have trouble knowing where to start looking with caterpillars, so I have no idea what kind this is. Thanks for any help! Forgot to identify the plant but I'm thinking its a hawthorn possibly based on leaves in pictures. Where is a good place to go to look up host plants to narrow it down?

Thanks! I got Wagners book for Christmas and thought I'd have to wait to use it til it got warmer, but I got to pull it out and look at all the Catocala's there too. Thanks! Thanks for the hostplant website too.
