Shistocerca shoshone - Schistocerca shoshone - female

Shistocerca shoshone - Schistocerca shoshone - Female
Rio Grande, Los Lunas, Valencia County, New Mexico, USA

Some call it a subspecies of S. alutacea. I am confused by the nomenclature and the priorities of names at this point, but I agree that they probably are the same species. This is the form common in riparian areas of the west, bright green with red hind tibiae, and often no yellow stripe on top.
