Magusa divaricata moth - Magusa divaricata

Moved, Magusa divaricata
Moved from ID Request. Jim's ID looks right to me.

Variable Narrow-wing
This may be an example of the species Magusa divaricata, which greatly varies.

Thank you...
Thank you, Jim. I can't find a posted image of Magusa divaricata that is exactly like this one, but, as you wrote, it is a variable species and this one definitely has the ambiance and essence of that species, along with some shared characters. I think you have nailed it. Thanks!

Dave - I collected in SE Ariz
Dave - I collected in SE Arizona this September and encountered at least a dozen of these. I don't think any two were alike. I kept thinking I was finding a new species several times before I got on to their tricks, their essence - as you stated. They are a tropical species that wanders at times up to the states - maybe the lemming population crashed or something down there this year, as it seems to be a big year for them up here. I've had a few this season even way up here in PA where I live.
