barklice - Amphigerontia

barklice - Amphigerontia
Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA

Another new genus!
It's great that you're identifying the barklice on bugguide. Now I look for them, instead of passing them by.

Amphigerontia sp.
Ok Tom I have been think about this one for a while now. It is in the genus Amphigerontia; Family Psocidae. I feel it is this due the the head markings and the shape of the discoidal cell (a rectangular box in the centre of the forewing...leaning to the left with the top and left corner formed by white veins). In this genus the discoidal cell is shaped like a church window with the tip cut off (easer seen then explained). As for species I can't say yet let me think more on this.
