Sam! The thing that is throwing me off of the flesh fly images are the long abdominal hairs or spikes on the fly in my pic. Otherwise, they look very similar.

I'm not sure.
This one could go either way and I wouldn't be surprised! Tachinids can be easily identified, but usually not from an image alone: Tachinids have a "postscutellum," a shelf-like process directly beneath the scutellum (hindmost dorsal segment on the thorax). You have to closely examine the specimen (obviously) to detect that feature, but it is easily seen and conclusive.
