little Wasp - Zynzus - male

little Wasp - Zynzus - Male
Manteca, San joaquin County, California, USA
September 18, 2007
Size: 3/8 "
I came across this litle Wasp sunning on a blade of grass on someone else's lawn . I gently broke the grass blade and carried it away to take photos . I noticed that it has two sets of antennae ... is that strange ? Thanks for any comments , sincerely Beth

Moved from Zynzus magnus.

Moved from Argid Sawflies.

Argidae
Male. Am unable to put it in a genus.

Male argid sawfly.
Nice antennae:-) The "U"-shaped terminal antennal segment identifies this as a male sawfly in the family Argidae. Getting to genus might not be difficult, either, but I am unqualified to offer that ID. Knowing the host plant (it is probably not grass) also helps.
