ground beetle - Platynus decentis

ground beetle - Platynus decentis
Antrim, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
September 18, 2007
Size: ~13mm
Found under loose bark on a standing beech tree.

Thanks Peter
I didn't measure this one, so the size I put down is just a rough estimate.

Platynini : Platynus
Larger body size and suggestion of constriction behind head (vertex) favors genus Platynus over Agonum. If so, dark appengages and pronotum with sinuate margin before sharp hind angles reminds me of P. decentis in my WI collection of which largest specimen is 12mm.
