Spider - Neoscona crucifera

Spider - Neoscona crucifera
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
September 20, 2007
This large spider just appeared today. In fact, it was just constructing its web when I first saw it. It's located about 4 feet to the left of my "pet" Argiope who has been making her daily web in the vines for the past month. Now there are two large spiders to keep supplied with grasshoppers and soldier beetles.

Moved
Moved from Orb Weavers. This is our best guess at this time.

Eriophora?
The hairy legs look like Eriophora to me. http://bugguide.net/node/view/24093
I can't be sure of species, but these may be a related species
