yellow sac spider
Hi , I have taken a photo of the exact same type of spider and I live in California ! I don't think you have the size correct though : 1/8 " is tiny . Anyhow , I was wondering what you chose to do with this spider since it has a toxic bite and is the leading kind of spider that bites . I found mine outside on my rosebush and it ran at my hand , so I am thinking about erradicating it . I do enjoy jumping spiders and various others , but I don't want this type around especially when it is aggressive . Nice photos ... what kind of camera do you have ? I don't think that you could get a better picture of it's face since it's eyes are so shiny and it's leg hairs so reflective . Sincerely , Beth

Thanks for the
compliment on the pictures. I did put the size wrong. I do believe the body alone was 1/4". With legs added in that's probably 1/2" or more. I just saw another one today. If I see one again I will try to measure. It was in my attic bedroom and I was getting ready to go to bed, so I grabbed the camera. I didn't see any aggression, though. I leave the spiders alone in the garden but I really don't like to see them in the house. Camera is a Canon Digital Rebel XT with a 100mm Macro lens. I need to get a 50mm Macro.
