green spider - Cheiracanthium mildei - male

green spider - Cheiracanthium mildei - Male
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
September 27, 2007
Size: ~10mm for body
Noticed this spider as I took down the hummingbird feeder to clean and refill.

Careful,
This looks very much like Cheiracanthium mildei which can be dangerous. This one looks like a male (enlarged palps), and I'm not sure if the male is dangerous or not. In widows only the female is dangerous.

Thanks for the warning! Glad
Thanks for the warning! Glad I didn't try to handle this spider.
