first off it's a katydid...ma
first off it's a katydid...maybe in the scudderia genus...one of their dentifying characteristics is a small bump or horn between their antenna.

Yes, certainly a katydid. No, not Scudderia, but must be close....I'll look it up here in a minute....Update: Pretty certain this is a female Mediterranean katydid, Phaneroptera nana. If so, it could be a county record. The "Singing Insects of North America" website lists it only for the Los Angeles area and San Francisco.
