Hurray, a record! - Polystoechotes punctata
Wallowa Lk., Wallowa County, Oregon, USA
July 31, 2007
Size: WS about 2"
It was attracted to our lantern - on 1st glance, in the dark, I thought I had a large alderfly. When I got it out to pin it, I said to myself "yipee, a giant lacewing!". I think the species is probably Polystoechotes punctatus?

It is indeed Polystoechotes punctata.

Congrats!
Yes, a rare find indeed. You should probably e-mail this image (after asking first if that is ok) to the Oregon State Arthropod Collection in Corvallis, and/or the state agriculture department, and see if they can give you a species and confirm the county record. Chris Marshall would be the contact at Oregon State U (go Beavers!)
