This is how I first found the two together. Then one flew off leaving the other one which is pictured individually (male?).

Troy, I moved your photos to the guide page. These are all "Waved Light Flies", Pyrgota undata. I found several print illustrations, including another member of this genus. The appearance of this species is, apparently, distinctive. See the guide page for references.

Pyrgota undata
These (and your other photos) are Pyrgota undata, the wing pattern is fairly distinctive. I have several print and Internet references on this, and will add them to a guide or comments when I get the chance.

The male has an odd abdomen--looks wider than the female's.
