Bee/Ant ID - Formica

Bee/Ant ID - Formica
Brighton, Northumberland, Ontario, Canada
September 2, 2007
I was amazed at how this tiny ant could drag this bee/wasp around. The ant finally came to a stop at the stick and seemed unable to drag the bee/wasp over. My attempt to move the stick caused the ant to run away. An ID of either the bee/wasp or ant would be appreciated.

Ant, wasp.
The ant is probably a species of Formica, but you will want Gordon Snelling to confirm:-) The dead wasp is a very dusty yellowjacket.

Thanks Eric, I appreciate you
