Pearl Crescent? - Chlosyne nycteis

Pearl Crescent? - Chlosyne nycteis
Powell Gardens, near Kansas City, Missouri, USA
September 30, 2007
Size: 4.5 -5 Cm
Is this a Pearl Crescent? I found it in the same general area as another one and assumed that this was one until I noticed some differences in markings as well as an obvious size difference. This one was much larger than the first Pearl Crescent I saw... anyone want to shed some light? Thanks...

Not a Crescent, I think -
looks more like the similar Silvery Checkerspot (Chlosyne nycteis).

Thanks Very much
that's it
