Cross Spider - Araneus diadematus

Cross Spider - Araneus diadematus
Monona, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
October 4, 2007
Based on other images I believe this is a Cross Spider, though the cross is not completed; looking for verification. Found large web just outside the front door yesterday morning (using the railing and house to anchor it) and saw the spider for the first time tonight.

Yes,
I believe it is Araneus diadematus.
