Cockaroach ?

Cockaroach ?
Pleasanton / Sunol, Alameda ? County, California, USA
October 6, 2007
Size: 1 cm
I found this fellow under a dry cow patty in a dry field at Sunol park . The reddish color caught my eye and I am fairly sure that he is a Cockaroach . Thanks for any comments , Beth

Yes,
cockroach nymph.

Probably adult female.
This is actually a wood cocktorach, genus Parcoblatta, and probably an adult female. The western wood cockroach has adult females that lack any evidence of wings, and I assume at least a few other species have the same situation.
