hopper with parasite - Bruchomorpha

hopper with parasite - Bruchomorpha
fayetteville, washington County, Arkansas, USA
October 7, 2007
Size: 3-4mm
attempting to remember to bring my camera along more often...
i have no idea what the nymph is, however, the parasite could be a Dryinid? not the best picture, but all i could get before it took one hell of a leap into the grass never to be seen again. after any id, feel free to frass if not useful.

Bruchomorpha
thank you very much for the IDs Claude and Eric. i will move it to the Bruchomorpha page unless someone really wants it with the dryinids. so, this would be an adult piglet bug? also, it did have two parasites... unlucky little bug.

Please don't frass.
This is a great shot in my opinon. I agree with Claude's ID, and suspect you are correct as to the dryinids.

Bruchomorpha
The hopper seems to be a Bruchomorpha. See here.
I have often seen parasites on hoppers but only once with 2 on the same specimen, which seem to be the case here. Good shot!
