I think this is
Anax junius
female, but I'm not 100% sure.

Definitely Anax junius
The eye, CBS logotype, has it!
Evidently, determining gender on these is tough. I immediately thought "male" because of the not-green abdomen. After doing some research, I'm totally unsure as to how to tell, though I've seen many different rationales, covering both color and body parts. Funniest one was in
Dragonflies through Binoculars
which explains the differences on the left page, but refuses to assign gender to the photo on the right page. I think that's wise.

Difficult to see the terminal appendages
from this angle, but we could convince ourselves that these are the appendages of a male. See the images on the info page
