very dark red behind, about 3 millimetres, i found it dead on my pants.

Spider beetle.
Nice job recognizing this as a beetle! Seriously, they are rather atypical compared to most beetles. This is a "spider beetle" in the genus Mezium. They feed on dry organic matter, so you might check for infested dry foods and discard them. That includes pet food.
