Moth--ID - Erannis tiliaria
Minden, Hakiburton, Ontario, Canada
October 10, 2007
Size: 1.5 inches
This larger moth arrived at my light the other night along with a Bruce Spanworm. The evening was chilly (circa 40 degrees). Does anyone know what species it is?

Linden Looper
It looks like Erannis tiliaria, Hodges #6665. They are very common this time of year in my area in Minnesota.
Compare to the picture I took yesterday.

Thanks very much, David. So far I've only seen one of these.
