Texan Longhorn? - Trachyderes mandibularis

Texan Longhorn? - Trachyderes mandibularis
Friendswood (SW of Houston), Harris County, Texas, USA
October 14, 2007
Size: Body ~1-inch long
Found in afternoon on a car door handle. When prodded it flew with amazing speed to a very tall tree. When browsing the most similar type I could find was a longhorn beetle, but I couldn't find the unique color scheme of the antennae anywhere.

Trachyderes mandibularis
This is a lightly marked specimen. Compare.
