Wasp? - Aleiodes politiceps

Wasp? - Aleiodes politiceps
Norfolk, Virginia, USA

Size: ~10mm body length
This was the best angle I could get before it flew away. I think it is some kind of small wasp.

Moved
Moved from Braconid Wasps.

Maybe a true bug (Hemiptera) of some sort?
I found some photos of seed bugs that look vaguely similar. I don't think it's a wasp, though. Not much help, I'm afraid...

Wasp
I am pretty sure this is a wasp, although I am not sure which type. There are a few, mostly parasitic, families that look something like this, for instance Braconidae.

Quite right
This is a brightly colored Braconid. True, these highly smoky wings could be mistaken for the hemelytrae of, say, some Mirid bug.

Sorry
that my comment was so misleading and wrong! Thanks for the information.

I appreciate
the help everyone, thanks! I found some images on the Braconid guide page that are similar. I'll move it there shortly.

Ken, I'm wrong on this ID stuff more often than not. I'm learning........slowly ;^).
