Rhysodid - Clinidium rosenbergi - male

Rhysodid - Clinidium rosenbergi - Male
Tippecanoe County, Indiana, USA
April 2, 2007
Size: 8 mm
Ventral view. Species determined by sulcate (grooved) metasternum and pollinose (velvetly-hairy) prosternum, seen here. These are characteristics of both C. rosenbergi and C. sculp*tile males. This is then C. rosenbergi as the next to last abdominal segment has the transverse sulci separated by a glabrous area, which would be pollinose in C. sculp*tile.
