Size: ~6cm
Steve Nanz found this large, colorful, and unfamiliar grasshopper at the foot of the hill at Ridgewood Reservoir this morning. (and later ID'd it)

Global warming?:-)
It is somewhat unusual to find this species so far north, but then I keep forgetting about the maritime influence of the Atlantic currents:-)
